Shadow Rising has been /reported for being Navispammed!

I logged in Sunday morning to run a couple of BGs with Navimie, Sevros and Fallnapart like I’ve been doing lately.  We ended up winning two out of three before Sev and Falln had to go.  Navi then wanted to help me with some Zul Gurub achievees, so she brought Azalpha and Mctacky along.  It’s funny how even though you can be in full 397 gear, you can still die to stupid shit, even in the Trollorics.  It had been a while since I was last in one, so promptly died like a noob to bad stuff on the ground and toxic links, lol.  We headed towards the High Priestess Kilnara for the first achievee, which I forgot to take a pic of, cause it looked pretty funny all us holding the rats.

We then went over to Jin’do to get another quick achievee and quickly died because we were just swarmed with adds, lol.  Thanks Navi, Aza and Tacky for helping me out with these!

Afterwards, Navi and I chatted for bit and she was talking about how she’s been wanting to meet more of the SR crew.  A couple of minutes later, Slice logs in and I whispered to him to go brush his hair and put a nice dress on and grab his beau, Lyssi, cause Navi wanted to meet them.  Navi went to log onto one of her many level one toons spread across the WoWverse so that she could paparazzi them.  I invited Adoe to the group and we threw a toy party right in the middle of Cowtown.  Then Navi said that she wished she was on her main for this as well, so we took the party over to ToGC for more photo ops, since Navi hasn’t had any spam shots from there.  I thought we were just gonna be there for a couple of pics when Adoe told me to switch it to 10 man heroic before zoning in.  He figured since we were here already, we might as well finish up the ToGC run that I botched up the settings on two weeks ago when Anub didn’t spawn for us.  And that’s when the SR floodgates opened.  Lyssi got Van, Tel and Zari (on his mage) to come and Adoe grabbed Shadey too.  Lyssi also put a quick call to Cayle and he said he and Zug would be on in 10 minutes.  So we quickly finished up the raid, finally getting Anub to spawn (yay!) and grabbing our achievees we missed last time.

So Cayle finally joined the raid after we abruptly interrupted him from his beauty sleep and we all got set up for our Navispam photo-op.  The only peeps we were missing were Zug and Moog, but otherwise pretty much all of SR was there.

I think we should bring Navi along more when we raid.  She pretty much got all of SR together today to raid, lol.  And she even got Cayle to join in, maybe next time he’ll actually do some work instead of looking pretty for the camera.  Thanks Navi for coming to visit us, we hoped you enjoyed your stay! =)

PvP Weekend Update – A Weekend of Crazyness

Frustrating.  Fun/Exciting.  Downright hilarious.  These words describe the crazy PvP weekend I had.  And it involved all different forms of PvPing, which I’ll explain below.

Frustrating

This past weekend’s Call to Arms was Warsong Gulch.  And Friday night was full of premades.  Of the Alliance variety.  And I’m Horde.  Yeah, you know where I’m going with this.  Of the five games involving Alliance premades, we lost all of them pretty bad.  I know that premades can still be beaten with good coordination from the group, but the groups I was in didn’t even try; as soon as the first flag was capped by the Alliance, the Horde would just run into the middle and try to get as many HKs they could get in before we got 3-capped.  We even had a game where our entire group spent the last 10 minutes as ghosts as the Alliance camped our graveyard, lol.

Fun/Exciting

Not all the WG games were bad, some were really great ones and they involved…achievements!  Yay!  The first three achievees I got this weekend involved one of the easier ones (if you’ve played a lot of WG games) and two of the hardest ones to get in WG, imo.

I started the BG weekend with 80 flag carrier kills, so it was only a matter of time until I finished getting the 100 needed for:

I was focusing of the flag carriers so much that I ended up getting the first of two of the harder achievees in WG by returning 5 flags:

I also capped another 2 flags for an excellent and exciting Horde win:

The next achievement I got is probably by far the hardest WG achievement to get and probably the most stressful.  It involves killing the enemy flag carrier in their own flag room with their flag in their possession all while they are holding your flag and trying to cap it.  Pretty intense, if you ask me.  You can see how close the Alliance pally got before we stopped him in his tracks. I didn’t really “Save The Day” per se, more like “Save The Cap” as the Alliance would end up winning anyways.  But hey, I’ll take that achievee any day, any way I can!

Sunday morning, I grouped with Navi, Shab and Sev for more PvP fun.  The Frostees always seem to bring the good luck to the BGs I’m in whenever I run with them, I think we only lost one or two games out of five.  We had a WG where a encountered a very nice troll druid, who did a really nice thing for me.  I had already capped the first two flags without dying and on the third one, this troll druid had carried the flag all the way into our flag room and instead of capping it, he dropped it for me and allowed me to cap it for the Ironman achievement.  So, Trapt of Llane, thank you so much for your generosity!

After we finished our BG runs, Navi, Shab and Sev went off to try to win a Darkmoon Duel at the Faire for Navi.  I also went to Faire back on Drak to attempt to win one too.  When I reached the arena, I saw a Tauren pally and three Alliance there, waiting to get into the ring.  The Tauren asked me how many more trinkets I needed, and I told him this was my first time and that I was only looking to get one.  He offered to help me get that one, so we grouped up and managed to hold off the other three Alliance that were in the ring.  I looted the chest in the middle of the ring and got:

Inside the chest were a couple Mana potions, gold and a Pit Fighter trinket.  The trinket had a quest to collect 11 more Pit Fighter trinkets, which will nab you the Darkmoon Dominator achievement and a Master Pit Fighter trinket.  I didn’t realize that this is similar to the Gurubashi Arena Master and Gurubashi Arena Grand Master achievements from Stranglethorn.  The Tauren pally I was grouped with had already 6 of the Pit Fighter trinkets, so I told him I would help him get the rest if we were on at the same time.  Looks like this is gonna be another achievement that will take some time to get, lol.

I’ll be back for the rest of the trinkets!

Downright hilarious

I came back online Sunday night just to reset my Auction House postings, when I noticed that Navi was online again.  We were going back and forth, thinking of something to do and was about to go on a Blue Proto Drake run in Utgarde Pinnacle, when she got an invite to do a Rated Battleground with Joubran‘s guild.  The group also had an extra spot, so Navi invited me to come along.  She also gave me a heads up and told me that the RBG leader, Gatemaster, can be very animated over vent.  Talk about a sailor’s mouth!  Let’s just say it was like having Richard Pryor or George Carlin with an Aussie accent (or was it Irish, lol, I’m not sure) spitting curses like every other word.  It was actually pretty hilarious because I was laughing so hard, which kinda took the edge off a bit, as I was essentially the noob in the group and didn’t want to disappoint.  I had run a couple Rated BGs with the Frostees in the past, but we lost both as we played against some really good teams and we were still learning how to work as one.

Navi and I played two games, both Eye of the Storm, before the group took a break from RBGs.  Gate and another member gave really good directions and orders and the group worked really well together.  Even though Gate was swearing constantly, he never berated anyone in the group, most of it was directed towards the Alliance, lol.  He just seems really passionate about his PvPing.

My first game was horrible, I don’t think I even had a single kill.  But I managed to delay the Alliance for a while by AoEing around the central flag, keeping them from taking it and assisting with capping other bases.  After an intense battle, I got my first Rated BG win.

The second game was much, much better, as I switched over to tanky spec and managed to stay alive a lot longer.  I even ninja assaulted two bases and capped the flag twice, lol.

Navi got three achievements and titles (Grunt, Sergeant, Senior Sergeant) in those two wins alone.  Grats Navi!  Me?  I got a long way to go for a title with my paltry 384 rating.  Woohoo!

By the end of the weekend, I nabbed a few achievements, got some more experience in Rated BGs, saw some random acts of kindness and finally got friendly with the Warsong Riders (which means it’ll only take like 4000 more WG games to get Exalted, lol).  Sorry for the long post, but as you can see it was filled with a lot of crazy PvPing for a crazy PvP weekend!

Calling the Grand Crusade and More Dragons!

More of the same from the previous night, as SR went old raid hunting again Wednesday night.  We had Van, Lyssi, Slice, Moog, Tel, Adoe, Shadey, Bobcat, Chewy and me.  Trial of the Grand Crusader on heroic 10m was our first stop.  We thought that we would run into trouble, trying to go for the achievements while the raid was set to heroic, but we quickly found out and we definitely had plenty of dps to bypass a lot of the mechanics.  We killed Gormok so fast that the Snobolds almost didn’t come out for the Upper Back Pain achievement, lol.

Jaraxxus was more of the same, he went down pretty quick after we waited for two Mistresses of Pain to spawn from the portal.

I forgot that only 6 Faction Champs come out on 10-man, so with the 10 of us, we made quick work out of them.

We also got Salt and Pepper achievement on the Twin Valkyrs fight for those who didn’t have it.  Then we dropped down and waited to take Anub out.  And waited.  And waited.  And he never showed up.  We thought that we killed the Valkyrs so fast that Anub was waiting to spawn on a timer, but that wasn’t the case.  Apparently the raid bugs (lol) out if you change the raid difficulty while inside the raid.  So we weren’t able to complete ToTGC.  Oh well, I’ll remember to change it next time before we zone in.

Then it was off to kill more dragons.  Onxyia’s Lair was next.  We kept it at 25m for a chance that the mount would drop, but no luck for us tonight.  We missed out on She Deep Breaths More and Many Whelps! Handle It!  but we’ll get them next time.

The last stop was Halion in the Ruby Sanctum.  I think there were a few people who had never seen him before, RS was that “filler raid” in between the end of ICC and the beginning of Cataclysm.  We died once on a trash pack, but the rest of the raid went pretty quick and after a quick debrief from our Adoe Addon, Halion was out for the count.

Chewy had not seen ToTGC or RS before tonight, so it was pretty cool to bring him along for the ride.  Grats to everyone again on their cheeves!

The Fall of the Eternity Sanctum of Naxxeyedian

I logged in Tuesday night, getting ready to run Dragon Soul to help gear up Moog on his warrior like we had done last week.  We had 7 people on (Lyssi, Slice, Adoe, Shadey, Van, Moog and me) and we were just waiting for Zari and Rekcals Koras to log in.  8:30 pm rolls around and still no Zari and, living up to his name, Rekclas Koras had made caviar and grey pupon dinner arrangements with high-class society and couldn’t make the raid.  So Lyssi typed in gchat that Slice wanted to know if we wanted to run old content.  I asked if Slice was drunk, cause he and Fayle usually cringe when we do anything other than current content.  I had suggested 25m Naxxaramas and Adoe had the same thought and said the same thing over vent, so we packed up the guild and headed over to Northrend.  Lyssi and Van invited a few more people to the party, including Pie on his priest, Angerfork on his lock and River on his mage.  We had a pretty good time in-game and on vent and racked up a bunch of achievees and transmog gear for everyone.  I managed to earn these cheeves in Naxx:

A couple screenshots from our Naxx 25m run:

And with all those achievees, I also earned the feat of strength [Oh Yeah! It’s Over 12000, But You’re Still Way Behind the Achievement Queen!], but for some reason it’s not showing up in the Armory….

We then decided to go on a 25m Obsidian Sanctum with 3 drakes up mount run and brought in Bocat on her priest along for the fun.  Grats to Angerfork on the mount!  I think we’ll need to run this every week for everyone, that is a sweet-looking mount!

We finished the night with one last raid, 25m Eye of Eternity.  Malygos also drops a couple of mounts, but they’re not guaranteed drops.  Our Adoe Addon suggested an easy way to defeat Maly that involved taking advantage of the buff zones and Time Warping right before the end of phase 1.  We blew Maly up and spent like 10 seconds in phase 2 on the drakes (I hated that phase when doing Maly back in Wrath, lol).  Got a couple more achievees in there as well:

A really fun night killing internet dragons and lots of undead!  Thanks to all who joined in the fun run and grats to all on your achievees and gear!

Uncovering the Secrets of Ulduar and Raiding the Keep

Ulduar.  I really can’t get enough of this place.  It still is my favorite raid instance so far in my WoW raiding history.  And it was also the first place that really got me into raiding.  This raid instance is beautiful and amazing and just screams epic with its encounters and bosses.  Like driving Siege Engines through hundreds of Dark Runed Dwarfs.  Playing patty cake with a Stone Giant.  Dancing with the Titans.  Going crazy over an Old God.  Even walking with a living constellation.

Sunday morning, I grouped up with Navi, Tacky and the rest of the Frostees to finish up some of the 25 man non-meta achievees that we didn’t get to last week.  We went in with only 9 peeps; I think we had 15 the other week.  I nabbed another 12 achievees to go with the 18 I got last week, lol.

I picked up two pretty cool weapons from Ulduar. Earthshaper, a two-handed mace from Yogg-Saron and Stormrune Edge, a two-handed sword from the Assembly of Iron.  Now, the Stormrune Edge may have agility on it, but its model holds a special memory for me.  Back when I was a noob raider in Wrath, I used to raid for a second raid team for a guild back on Firetree.  We would raid Ulduar every week, but never got close to completing it, maybe finishing up to Kologarn.  But we would always do XT.  And XT dropped the one sword I coveted the most, Aesir’s Edge.  I saw this sword on another player and I thought it would look amazing on a ret pally.  I wanted it sooooo bad.  Every time the sword would drop, I’d always lose it to another melee dps (and our raid team was always melee heavy), sometimes losing the roll by a couple of numbers.  But I never gave up, I wanted to raid every week just so I can get that damn sword.

And then, one week, the stars on Algalon aligned, the rolls were on my side and I finally had won my sword.  I was ecstatic, the sword was now mine!  Lol, I still have that same sword I won back then and every time I see it in my bank, I always remember my early raiding days in Ulduar and that moment when that weapon dropped into my bags.

Back in April, while Shadow Rising was working on the meta achievees for the Rusted Proto-Drake, I managed to snag the third weapon of this same model, Abaddon, which is my current mog for my weapon today.  There is a fourth sword that shares this model, Voldrethar, Dark Blade of Oblivion, which drops off General Vezax in 25 man.  Maybe one day that sword will be mine too, lol.

Here are some other screenshots from the Ulduar run.

Finally got that Astral Walker title I’ve been waiting forever to get!  It was another fun morning for me, thanks again guys! =)

Sunday night, I had planned to attend JD‘s Laid Back Raid, where they were going to run Gruul’s Lair and Karazhan on the Horde-side, but I logged on too late coming back from dinner.  From what I’ve read, it looks like they had a fun time in there.  I’d join next week’s LBR in Onxyia’s Lair, but after my Alliance project stalled, my highest Alliance toon is only level 61. =(  Maybe in two weeks then, lol.

When I did finally log on, Van asked if I wanted to do Tempest Keep and immediately invited me to a group.  The group consisted of Adoe, Moog on his warrior, Van, me, Cymre, Coolidge and Kamalia on her druid.  No Ashes for us, but we cleared the place pretty quick.  I got another two-handed sword from this run, Twinblade of the Phoenix, which kinda looks like a poor blood elf’s version of Thunderfury, lol.  I think Moog is ready for Dragon Soul, now that his warrior is decked out in T5 gear, lol =P

Another great weekend, raiding old content with guildies, Frostees and fellow bloggers!
